The U.S. government is increasingly concerned about nation-state cyberattacks coming for our critical military systems. Federal organizations like the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) have updated guidelines and metrics so contractors in the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) can be best prepared to face those threats and comply with a new iteration of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).
Contractors gearing up for CMMC 2.0 can join our fourth-annual conference, CMMC CON, September 27, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT. To help the DIB “Strive to Thrive” — this year’s theme — combat veteran Robert J. O’Neill will share his robust expertise on the security of our nation with the keynote address.
O’Neill is one of the most highly decorated combat veterans of our time. He is a former Navy SEAL Team Six leader who led over 400 missions in several locations, including Liberia, Ukraine, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. O’Neill was part of several history-making missions: He was a Team Leader for Operation Neptune’s Spear, the mission that killed Osama Bin Laden; he was part of Operation Red Wings, helping rescue a lone SEAL team survivor from a reconnaissance mission in Afghanistan; and he was the lead jumper for the mission that saved Captain Richard Phillips from Somali pirates. He is decorated with 53 awards, including two Silver Stars, four Bronze Stars with Valor, and three Presidential Unit Commendations.
O’Neill is also a New York Times bestselling author for his memoir, “THE OPERATOR: Firing the Shots that Killed Osama bin Laden and My Years as a SEAL Team Warrior.” In addition, he co-founded the Special Operators Transition Foundation, which supports veterans as they forge post-military career paths.
With his expertise, he will keynote CMMC CON 2023 with insights around leadership and the security of our nation to see O’Neill’s session. In addition, CMMC CON attendees will gain an insider perspective on the state of cybersecurity and actionable insights through numerous sessions throughout the event. Those who complete CyberSheath’s CMMC compliance training and earn their black belt will also be honored during the conference in the ninja black belt hall of fame.
